This policy applies to travel booked through FlightIQ. FlightIQ facilitates booking flows with airlines and third-party providers, but does not itself operate flights or set airline fare rules.
Cancellation rights, exchange eligibility, travel credits, no-show handling, seat assignments, baggage treatment, and refund outcomes are governed by the airline's or provider's rules for the specific ticket you purchased.
Information shown in FlightIQ about refundability, cancellation fees, and change fees is sourced from third-party systems and may be incomplete or change after search. Always verify final fare terms before purchase.
For eligible bookings, FlightIQ provides self-service tools to manage certain post-booking changes directly from your account dashboard. Available actions may include:
All other modifications — including name corrections, route changes, class upgrades, special service requests, and involuntary reaccommodation — must be handled directly with the operating airline. FlightIQ is not responsible for the outcome of changes made outside its self-service tools.
US DOT 24-hour rule. For covered flights, US Department of Transportation rules (14 CFR 259.5(b)(4)) generally require airlines to permit either a 24-hour hold at the quoted fare without payment, or a full refund of the ticket within 24 hours of purchase, when the ticket is purchased at least seven days before scheduled departure. This right is set by the operating airline. You may use FlightIQ's cancellation tool to request a refund within that window; the airline retains final authority over whether the request qualifies under the rule.
If a refund is approved, processing time depends on the airline, provider, payment processor, and your bank or card issuer. FlightIQ does not control those timelines.
Significant schedule changes and airline cancellations (US). Under current US Department of Transportation rules, when an airline cancels or makes a significant change to a US flight, the airline generally must offer a refund to the original payment method for the unused portion of the ticket — including for non-refundable fares — if you do not accept the reaccommodation. The airline defines what qualifies as a significant change within the limits of the applicable rule. If your itinerary is affected, contact the airline for reaccommodation or refund, and contact contact@flightiq.ai if you need help locating references or escalating.
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us before initiating a charge dispute where possible. Booking providers, payment processors, and airlines may require supporting records to investigate a claim. Initiating a chargeback can affect reservation status depending on provider and airline rules.
FlightIQ applies a small service fee to bookings made through the platform. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the fare amount, subject to a fixed cap, and is clearly displayed in the checkout price breakdown before you complete the transaction. FlightIQ does not charge separate cancellation or refund processing fees beyond this service fee.
Voluntary cancellations: if you voluntarily cancel a confirmed and ticketed booking, the FlightIQ service fee is non-refundable.
Involuntary cancellations and significant schedule changes: if the underlying airline ticket is refunded because the airline cancels the flight, makes a significant schedule change that you do not accept, or otherwise issues a full refund of the fare for reasons not caused by you, FlightIQ will also refund the FlightIQ service fee for that ticket. Refund timing for the service fee follows the timelines described in Section 6.
24-hour rule: if the airline issues a full refund under the US DOT 24-hour rule (see Section 4), FlightIQ will refund the FlightIQ service fee for that ticket.
If you are enrolled in FlightIQ's Smart Rebook or Price Protection service and a qualifying rebook is executed, the fare difference — less any applicable processing or change fees imposed by the airline — constitutes the payout.
